Does Fan Control recognize iMacs?

OSX Fanatics has reported that Fan Control will recognize iMacs as well as MacBooks. However, upon installation my FanControl will not recognize my iMac. It acts as if it is a MacBook. I have tried restarting the app and rebooting and neither seems to work. I have 2008 version iMac Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz, 4GB/800 MHz running Snow Leopard. Any suggestions are appreciated.
